Hear the story behind these two little abstract expressive paintings, some ideas re mark making and working big and small at the same time!
A few pics of a painting as I paint it. Hear more about the inspiration in my vlog in an earlier post! I don't paint to a plan, I have an idea and generally a sketch and then I'm off. It's finished when it makes me smile :-) The painting is 70 x 70cm, painted in acrylic and on stretched canvas.
We had a lovely day in June on my expressive painting course. The morning was spent out wandering the local fields sketching and listening to the skylarks and the afternoon we let loose with some expressive painting! The aim was to PLAY, experiment and loosen up... To ease us into it i took along a roll of wallpaper lining paper so we didn't get too precious about material and it was great to paint in some different shapes and sizes! Some great experimental work by attendees was done- take a look below... and here are a few from me- the big one is on my wall in my study, reminding me of our sunny June day!
The next video or if your prefer now audio too in my painting stories series. In this short 4 minute video I talk about hat inspired the painting, how I like to use colour and an artist that inspires me...
