Expressive Sketching & Painting Workshop
with Heather Rachel Johnston
Saturday 15th June 10-4pm, Little Horkesley
The day will be about loosening up and using colour and mark making to express your emotional and sensual experience of the landscape around Little Horkesley. Focus will be on letting go, moving towards abstraction, playing and experimentation rather than trying to create a realistic likeness of the landscape!
What you can expect
Heather will share her process from initial inspiration, sketching and then moving into paint.
Weather permitting* we will go out into the landscape and sketch the gently rolling panoramic views looking towards Nayland, Wiston and Stoke by Nayland and then we will come back to the hall to start to bring those sketches to life in expressive painting. We will work fast with waterbased media, working with more than one piece of work at the same time.
Tea and Coffee provided and please bring your own art materials and packed lunch- as we are deep in the countryside please don’t forget it as there is nothing close by! Cost for the day £50. A suggested art materials list is provided here.
